brantuk Posted April 6, 2011 Share Posted April 6, 2011 Set the dovetail above and parallel to the mount. Then you can fix the counterweight bar and weights. Then add the OTA into the rings. Just slacken the bolts under the dovetail bar that hold the rings on very slightly so the rings line up square to the tube when you put it on. Then tighten them afterwards to preserve the alignment.This is your start position. Then you need to balance the whole setup in both RA and Dec planes. The instructions are clear on this. Finally look up your latitude and set the altitude using the bolts at either end of the mount and the scale on the side and you're ready to polar align. (Don't over tighten the bolts cos the bar can bend inside the mount).Hope that helps Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
