Saturn with Neximage

Recommended Posts

My very first go at Saturn this apparition, captured Sunday 3 April 2011 at 23:13 BST.

I captured 16 AVIs and found the second one gave the best results. Seeing wasn't too good: hazy light polluted sky and very windy. Still, dew wasn't a problem for once!

Captured using a Celestron Neximage CCD with a Skywatcher 2X ED barlow attached to a Celestron CPC925GPS. AVI captured in K3CCD Tools and stacked in Registax 6.

Thanks for looking,

Thought I have another go a processing some of the AVIs captured last week-end using my desk top PC rather than the netbook and think the result is better.

Also I used linked wavelets in Registax 6 which has given better definition to the final image: the Cassini division can now be seen better than before.

Thanks for looking,
