Welcome, Sian! And if you are a NASA Geek, you already know about the wonderful NASA (and probably ESA as well) websites, but if you can scrape up the airfare - Virgin Atlantic usually has some great deals - a trip to NASA/JPL in Pasadena in the early summer for the annual two-day open house is worth it! This is a hugely popular event in Southern California, jam packed with humongous crowds who come to see the working prototypes of the planetary rovers, and find out ab out all of the other far out things that NASA is doing, frequently in cooperation with ESA and other space agencies. At the same time you check out NASA/JPL, you may want to take a look at Cal Tech, right down the road, and also check out the Mount Wilson telescope (s) just up on the hill above Pasadena, which is where Ed Hubble, using the data collected by others, helped to jell our conclusion that our universe consisted of a lot of galaxies besides our Milky Way! You are going to have lots of fun with astronomy, Sian. Welcome!
