Welcome to SGL, jhobbs.

I have the 6SE. Like Adastra said, the main problem is if you decide to get into astrophotography in a big way, you are limited to short exposures because of the mount (it is alt-az rather than eq). The tube is removable from the mount, however, so you could always get a different mount at a later date and attach the OTA to it.
