Vixen Dovetail - can I mount it on...

a standard 1/4" 20 adapter ?

I have an EQ2 mount which has standard tripod adapter on it to which I currently attach my William Optics Magrez.

I have just ordered a Vixen Optics VNC110L which comes with a standard dovetail - will I need another adapter ?

The dovetail plate on the VMC110L has a 1/4" tripod thread socket on it. The same applies for the VMC95L.

This is NOT the case with the dovetail plates on all the Vixen OTAs - those that use tube rings have a different dovetail bar.

Thanks Pete ! - I solved the (non) problem by buying an EQ3 synscan ! An expensive fix but hey WTH! I van use the EQ2 as back up or have 2 scopes (or camera) mounted up at once I suppose.

Does the spending ever end......?
