Stop press.....Moon hits M45

Looking at Starry Night Pro, the moon slides past M45 as it gets dark in the UK. Worth a peep chaps?

Its cloudy here, and looking at SN, the moon is in a perfect position for me to grab a pic....

I think this would be a spectacular visual sight if the moon was a crescent, but it was too bright last night and I could only see 4 stars in M45. I daresay you clever imaging types could have filtered out the glare somehow.

Probably needs 2 or 3 degrees fov as well to frame it nicely.

I'm no expert but I reckon the Moon will occult just about anything in the southern sky given enough time.

There's seems to be another one on Feb 23 with less of the Moon showing. U need to be out

in the early evening after sunset as the Moon completely covers M45 as the night goes on.

Acoording to SN Pro that is.
