Star-Gazer
HiAnyone please recommend a few ways for me to get a shot of the whole moon with the kit in my sig using my webcam so I can stack the images.I just tried with my NX10 and it is just a tad too small to get the whole moon in which is a pain and it records mp4 files which have to be converted and so the webcam may be best and I want to stack the images as I mentioned.(I tried moving the scope back a few feet but this didn't work!! lol) ta. SuperMassive
Stacking the images can be done with Registax, RegiStax- Free image processing software or DeepSkyStacker DeepSkyStacker - Free You could try making a mosaic of the different areas, then put them all together with Autostitch, http://cvlab.epfl.ch/~brown/autostitch/autostitch.html#autostitch
nightfisher
you might try a cheap focal reducer like the celestron neximage
Bizibilder
Use the Phillips webcam and stack the avi's in Registax - you will need several to cover the whole Moon. Then use imerge (freeware) to stitch the mosaic together.(You can use imerge with the unstacked avi's - it uses the first frame only - so you can check that you havn't "missed a bit" when collectiong your avi's - VERY useful!!).
