M51 - 7.5hours RGB

Hi All,

Despite poor seeing and being in a light polluted city, I thought I'd try my luck with a few hours of data. At long last I've also got PixInsight - what a fantastic bit of software! I'm sure that it could be a bit better, but I'm pretty happy with it.

Vixen VC200L at F6.4

GPDX mount guided with ETX90, Atik16ic and PHDguide

Sbig ST8300M with Baader rgb

6 minute subs. 2.5 hours each.

RGB only. No Lum yet!

Boy, from light pollution? Well done. Good strong colour. The Lum will tighten up the resolution. Take time to focus though, with Lum.

Cheers Olly. Imminent house move out of Plymouth might sort the light pollution issue.

Have a Bhatinov but still struggle a bit with focus, which I suspect relates to the coarse manual focuser. Vixen's microfocuser ain't a cheap upgrade either.

Thought that I would show the full frame rgb stack prior to PixInsight DBE etc etc?

Rgb stacks direct from deepskystacker, combined into one in Pixinsight, neutralised the background, then moved the histogram sliders just to show the image.
