Sorry Darks Again

So last night I took 50 lights (maxim DL) unguided at 120 seconds. Tonight I'm in the process of taking 50 darks, when I started it was the same conditions, clears skies but since then the clouds have come in and I'm guessing it's a couple of degrees warmer now. So my question is can I still use them or am I wasting my time?

How many did you get before the temp went up? If it was 15 - 20 then use them.

Trouble is I have no idea as I was having a Chinese and just left it running, this is the 30 day trial, does a dslr show the temperature?

If the chip got warmer then the master dark will over correct and you will have blackish pixels all over the place. Suck it and see. If you get a bad result then cull the darks and only use the ones from earlier in the series. 20 is usually plenty.

Cheers Dennis I did try but it wasn't the best of efforts, oh well.. There's always next time, there would be if it wasn't so cloudy

There is a programme called ExifTool Installing ExifTool which will give you the temperature if your camera supports it. Just drag and drop the image on to the top of the executable and a dos window will pop up giving you all the exif data in the image

That would work if the files had the exif info I've no idea what I did but it saved all my files as fits instead of the original camera raw.
