Orion Neb with UN-MODDED spc900.

Had a play last night seeing what could be produced with my un-modded webcam....1/25 shutter speed...crazy surely..but if I take a massive avi with thousands of frames.....

25 min avi 15000 frames my poor netbook could not handle this in one lump so split 3 ways and stacked each avi in registax then stretched histogram and saved as TIFF.

The 3 tiffs were then stacked in DSS and here is the result :

Its not going to win any prizes but I was quite amazed considering the alt/az tracking was drifting during the 25 min stream. Registax and Deep Sky Stacker are amazing pieces of software!

Yep, I have some with the unmodded cam, except mine was unintentional as I wasn't using the software right - it's amazing what can be picked up, especially with a bright object like the orion neb...

Certainly makes me want to try the LX mod!

Nice one... AltAz won't be a problem on exposures of this short a length, as long as your tracking.
