GIMP astro image edit tutorial...?

Hi folks,

Is there a good image edit/process tutorial on the forum/net for editing astro pics i.e DSO's using GIMP..?

I know they have there own tutorial site, just wondered if there was a good dedicated astro pics/gimp write up...?

Not a tutorial as such, but there is a set of plugins for astronomy here:

gimp-plugin-astronomy | GIMP Plugin Registry

If you follow the link to the download then there is a description of what they do. There is even a background gradient removal tool.

The same techniques you use in Photoshop apply to Gimp, and any other packages.

Levels, Channels, Curves, Saturation, High Pass, all non product specific techniques.
