  1. Bad thing about putting the filter in the EP cup is you get your eye marks all over it.
  2. DO NOT pay Canon prices for accessories. I have this non programmable one, dirt cheap at 5 GBP including delivery from Power Planet on Amazon PowerPlanet compatible Canon RS-60E3 remote cord for: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics I am considering a cheap programmable remote too so saving dragging out the laptops. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=1100d+remote+&x=0&y=0
  3. Nice, pity about the jpeg compression artifacts.
  4. What equipment did you use to take that and what processing with what shot settings? If you don't mine me asking It helps others (and me) do solar imaging. I don't know if this helps you but I just ordered some of these to make a heat shield for solar observing/imaging. http://www.amazon.co.uk/evaQ8-Foil-Survival-Blanket-Silver/dp/B001S2FX4W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1317482721&sr=8-2 Also check getting a laptop stand with fan under it (USB powered) so you can cool under it, but ambient hot air may still be an issue, in which case i suggest a USB powered mini fridge, also can store a beer or two in it
  5. Is it me or is the most fun stuff in the southern hemisphere? Is the southern hemisphere the best view of the milky way and neighbouring galaxies? Most nebulas and stars? I also see that most interesting stuff is located in the South facing skies vs North facing, is that also true?
  6. Turn left at Orion says NEVER clean your optics, you will ruin the lens coatings. So... Don't get them dirty in the first place.
  7. So this is a problem with all colour sensors or just specific ones?
  8. How much Ha will get through an unmodified DSLR and how much Ha is lost?
  9. Book depository Ordered on 26th, Received today. AND cheaper than Amazon
  10. Ohhh thats bad lol I wouldn't put my best image up there, at least not in reproducible print form lol It is bascially like iReporter on CNN, cheap labour and stories (for free) lol. I bet you cannot even get a slice of their profits as you signed that right to them by submitting the image.
  11. I would imagine some do with their images printed onto canvases and framed and then sold... All those posters and canvases on poster.com astronomy section have to come from somewhere no?
  12. Yes so does mine, I was trying to see if DSLR Shutter from stark labs would work on it. http://www.stark-labs.com/DSLR_Shutter.html
  13. And I also suppose they retain all the rights to do as they please with the image after.
