Iridium flares again

I've just been looking at the next few weeks' Iridium flare charts. The evening flares are beginning to move into a time frame when it is convenient for me to get out and see them, between 6 and 8 PM. They've been a bit earlier the last couple of months, and occurring when I'm driving home or otherwise occupied. Looking forward to completing my list.

I quite like to coincide them occurring with my walking the two dogs get one or two strange looks from time to time

OK, next Monday, at quarter to five in the afternoon, go outside and look west, and about a third of the way up to zenith. Wait a couple minutes, and you will quite probably see Iridium 42 in all its -6 glory!

Yes the Irdiums are great to watch, I set up my satellite tracking programme so I can get an idea when to go outside and save myself getting freezing.

I use heavens-above exclusively. It's as good as any tracking program.
