First Mosaic attempt

Couple of nights ago. SPC900 16 images of 250 frames each. 89% Moon and very happy with result

You should be happy with that!! It's quite tricky to get good focus when the Moon is near(ish) to full and you seem to have achieved that. Well done

Thanks for that. Just waiting for clear skies to give my new DSLR a go! I still worry that the moon doesn't look quite round. I used iMerge but not sure it ends up as spheroid looking as it could.

Any better software?

I think it may just be an optical illusion the waxing gibbous Moon is a pretty funny shape to our eyes so they try and "round it off" - hence the illusion that it isn't round! imerge is pretty good for Moon mosaics.

By the way did you know that you can use imerge to "mosaic" your raw .avi's?? Just load them into imerge (it only uses the first frame of each .avi) and you can see if you've "missed a bit" - dead useful!!
