Moon mapping

Hi all,

First night ever tonight with new scope, It needs collimating but over all I'm pleased with it.

I took some pics of the moon but when i look at the Lunar 100 map which is downloadable from this site I cant find any relevance to anything, can anyone help me find something that I can relate to on this pic compared to the lunar map in this link

I think that the crater that is quite prominent just above half way up is Eratosthenes. If that helps?

I take it you are looking for some points of reference, these look like a couple to me. Thats 83, 5 and 9 from top to bottom

Actually let me revise that. The large prominent crater is Copernicus which is 5 on the Map

Its not that good a pic I just held an old 3mp point and shoot on top of a 26mm plossl by hand and this is what I got.

Now I have a reference I can work out where I am on the moon so to speak.
