How much zoom do i need to see the surface of the moon

I took this picture yesterday but I want to see the face on the moon, I was dissapointed I can't see it!!

If the clouds were not there you could make the "face" out. It's just a pattern that some people see in the contrast between the light and dark areas of the moons surface. Other folk make a rabbit out if it !.

No scope needed for that one !.

you will have to wait a long time to see the other side!

(the moon is in "captured orbit" which means we only ever see one side - hence the "dark side")

Did you actually take this image yesterday? Really? Despite the fact its linked to the accuweather website and dated September 2007? Despite the fact that the image is quite clearly a full moon, and current moon is 25% illuminated?
