Demonperformer
Cluster M48, in Hydra. This one has been done with 4B, 2B & HB pencils. I found the soft ones had a tendancy to 'smudge' and I think this is why the brighter stars are 'egg-shaped'. Hopefully this will improve with more practice. Inverted colours, applied gaussian blur and unsharp mask.Generally happier with this one than my first attempt (http://stargazerslounge.com/imaging-sketches-unconventional/126501-my-first-time-so-gentle-me.html), so think I am moving in the right direction. Thanks for looking. DarkerSky
Nice one DP!You know, I was viewing M48 early yesterday evening with my 12" in a half-hour gap I had before the cloud spilled in. I recognise the shape and pattern from your drawing. What stayed with me about my view was the faint close double near its centre, which I think you've captured there. Excellent stuff!
