Supernova 2010jl - a different one!

Hi all,

With all the interest in Supernova 2011b, I thought I'd have a go at imaging another bright one that's flared up at the moment as I can't see 2011b from my obsy here in suburban Norfolk.

This one is in an odd little irregular galaxy in Leo, UGC 5189A. Discovered in November 2010, it has been up to 13th magnitude, but seems to have faded now to around 14th magnitude. Still fairly bright by SN standards, but beyond my visual abilities. The bright star is 3.5 magnitude Omicron Leo, and the field of view is about a degree from left to right. The closeup shows stars down to around 18th magnitude. The supernova is at 09h 42m 53.33s, +09° 29m 41.8s (J2000.0)

15 x 300s subs, Canon 450d, SW 250mm f/4.8 Newtonian, NEQ-6 mount.
