First Lunar capture

OK I know I have only been doing this for a week but couldn't resist having a go at capturing the moon tonight in between clouds. Not perfect by any means but so happy to have done it.

First go with the SPC880NC so happy with initial results: much to learn and happy to get advice

I tried tonight and could not get the moon image at all! Tried focus, gain, exposure but although the camera seemed to be working I couldn't see the moon in the capture software.

what software were you using? I was using Sharpcap.

I'll let you know what settings I used later

Nice image JKB. Good crisp focus and the right exposure - well done - onwards and upwards, as they say!!

great capture there - what did you use and how many frames?

SPC880NC flashed to 900 spec through my Explorer 150. 1000 frames then stacked 250 in Registax

That's a nice result, it's worked well...

When you did the stack, did you use the default mode ? did you do apply any wavelets ?

I did play with wavelets but messed it up big time so did it again with default settings. Wavelets did work for me with a capture of Saturn but will try again

I think the wavelets could make all the difference... just be gentle with them...
