Hi Cloengaa and welcome to SGL. I think many webcams cheaply available now are cmos based and are not so sensitive for low light levels. They also tend to be 'noisy' ie adding unwanted spurious information to an image. I have just got a Phillips 880 and will have a play with it. There is a lot of info about using/ adapting it for astro imaging on this site and elsewhere on the Internet. Good luck.
