registax problems

hi there , im trying to use registax for the 1st time but when trying to load a avi movie a message error box saying , failed to start avi decompression , so was wondering if anybody can help me with this

Are you using registax 4? if so get 5 lol if 5 then i found this which may be helpful

"Failed to start AVI decompression"

This means for example, that the application that you use to capture webcam images, must be capable of recording as RGB.

The main cause of this error message is that the required codec for decompressing the AVI is not on the computer. If you are using a different computer to process the AVI try installing the caputure software and the camera drivers.

Hello Amy, this often happens due to codec being used, try VirtualDub freeware, load the image and if it loads save as avi with a new name. If it won't load in VD then you may have to convert it to another format somehow. Best to use codecs astro software is familiar with.
