Bahtinov vs Hartzman

I like Bahtinov, I like Hartzman, but which one it better.......

.....theres only one way to find out......FIGHT!!!!!!

Seriously though, which is better? I've read about Bahtinov masks but only recently came a Hartzman mask from here

Is one better than the other? Thoughts appreciated.

The only way to find out is to cut both out of a suitable sheet of plastic or cardboard, and testing them. Hartzman is less work to make.

The problem with a Hartman mask (I used to use one) is the closer to critical focus you get, it gets increasingly difficult to see the 3 separate stars and is thus very difficult to get perfect focus.

The Bahtinoff mask on the other hand is a lot easier to see as all you are looking for is the central spike to be er..... central!
