Shibby Posted January 25, 2011 Share Posted January 25, 2011 The cost can also be brought down a lot by buying second-hand (my mount is second-hand and I'm thrilled with it). If you already own a DSLR, they are a great option for astrophotography. These are often up for sale second-hand too, presumably as people switch to CCD.
