I cant seem to find the moon on my controller. I can use quick align to track it, but why is the moon not listed in my controller even if its right above my head. Also when i try to change my go to approach, It doesn't seem to change!

Assuming the mount is programmed correctly with time, date and position then if an object is visible by eye it should be listed on you handset as a valid goto.

As such the Moon would then appear listed under Solar System.

There is an Object Filter setting that lets you program a latitude below which and a latitude above which objects will not be listed. If for example you were surrounded by building up to 30 degree you could enter this so targets would not be listed until they came above the roof tops.
