Recent Meade 4000 "super plossls"

I've not tried any of these for years. I know they are 4 element and chinese made nowadays (these are the multi-coated ones with the orange printing on them that come in a kit) but how are they compared to the standard Skywatcher SP plossl or the Celestron Omni plossls for example ?.

I can get some at a rather low cost but if they are poor I won't bother.

I won't be comparing them to my Tele Vues of course

Hi John, have you come across this article from CNhttp://www.cloudynights.com/item.php?item_id=2175 I was lucky to have the japan 26mm with my meade and these are probably in the TV league, it's as crisp as my 32mm TV but the article gives some food for thought! andrew

I have not seen that particular article but it sort of confirms what I suspected about the latest incarnations of the Meade 4K's.
