Hyperstar & 925???

Does anyone know why the hyperstar product isnt availble for a 925sct?

Presumably something to do with the C9.25 having a longer focal ratio on the primary mirror than the other Celestron SCTs.

I think you can if you convert the secondary.

Make enquiries at Starizona, I'm not sure who in the UK would supply it.

I was happily browsing the Starizona website for info on the Hyperstar 3 kit for the 925 when the whole lot ground to a halt...

Since C9.25 has a longer primary, would it make it easier to focus than the other hyperstar SCT? I heard Hyperstar SCT have no depth of field and need to be foucsed with micrometer accuracy.

Critical focus zone for a c8 hyperstar at f/2 is somewhere in the region of 6 microns!

Due to the different mirror setup on the 925, the hyperstar for those runs at a slightly slower f/2. 3

My feeling about them when looking at the images posted on the web is that when people get them tickled up to perfection they give astounding results. But if they are not optimized, results are distinctly ordinary. You could say this about any system but I guess the screamingly fast f ratio makes the whole thing more critical. I would love to try a Hyperstar but am a bit nervous about taking the plunge. I really don't fancy looking for a 6 micron focus using a moving primary.
