Using a webcam

I want to use a webcam to take some pics with my scope, I have watched a few youtube vids and they seem to place the cam into the scope with out any lens is this correct??

Yes that's right.

For the well known ToUcam you screw off the lens and then replace it with a screw in adaptor and an IR/UV screw in filter. FLO sell these, as do others. It is also possible to make your own.

Jupiter is a good target for a webcam.

I got a cheap webcam today and took the lens off and stuck a film case on it, just need a clear night to try it out

Basically you focus the telescope's image ("Prime Focus") directly onto the chip of the webcam. The telescope becomes the "camera lens".
