Dew prevention

Recommended Posts

What anti-dew setup would I need for the following:

Canon 450D camera on Equinox 80

QHY5 guidecam on 9x50 SW finderscope

Possibly soon to try an Atik 383L

FLO suggests that the smallest tape fits "1.25" or 50mm finder" - I would naturally have bought 2" for the 50mm finderscope, are they right?

Should I buy 3" or 4" for my Equinox 80 (3.15")?

Is a single channel controller OK, or will I need dual channels?

Do I need anything on the camera itself?

I use a 2" on my finderguider and a 4" on an ED80. They both overlap by at least 1" which I saw as preferable to buying something that was too short from e8ay and being stuffed. With hindsight FLO sound right on their sizing. They do take returns if the purchase is well off what is required.

I'd consider making your own. It's dead easy if you can solder but takes some effort - you still need a controller but for about £10 plus the controller you have enough gear for maybe 5-6 straps.

Heaters

A single channel controller would be OK for one strap but I'd get at least a dual - gives you options.
