Help with spc880

Recommended Posts

Well I've bought a philips spc880 from morgans computers and I've seen some threads saying that you need windows XP, unfortunately my laptop has vista and all the rest of the computers in the house have vista/7. Is there a way that I can get the drivers without having XP?

Cheers,

Carl

Hi Carl - the phillips website has the vista drivers for an spc 900. Morgans website has the software to flash the 880 so that it "looks" like an spc 900 to the computer.

There is a thread on SGL that gives the site links, if you do a search for Morgans or spc880. It also gives a full procedure to do it. Failing that you can google the two sites. Do the flashing first then install the drivers (is the usual order of events) :)

The procedure is:

1) Load software to convert camera

2) Install SPC880 drivers (before connecting camera)

3) Connect SPC880 camera

4) Run webcam software

5) Run flash software, and flash camera to an SPC900

6) Install SPC900 drivers

Steps up to 5 need to be on an XP computer.

You could try Windows XP mode under Windows 7 (free download from Microsoft).
