Maybe the map could be updated with active astronomy societies and links to their websites.

Hi Tara and all

I live in London too and am new to astronomy and the forum. Does anybody know if there are astro clubs on the East side of town?

Also... can you actually see any detail up there with all that light pollution in central London? I live in zone 2... in my first couple of forays the best I've managed is to see Jupiter's giant spot (or did I imagine it) and certainly no bands that others seem to talk about seeing with the same kit.

As a newbie it's hard to know whether it's the pollution or just my technique that's letting me down...!
