Geared head for guiding?

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone out there had any thoughts on using a MAnfrotto 410 Junior geared head to support a 66 or (in the future) an 80mm guide scope?

I've noticed a few people are using them for astrotrac's although most people seem to have gone for the 405 as it is a little sturdier with the additional weight.

Mine would just take the guide scope with rdf mounted and guide cam.

This then gives me the flexibility to easily switch to guiding with the flt and wide field with a dslr using the quick release plates...

I thought this set up would also give me much greated choice of guide stars as it has much greater movement than guide rings.

So any thoughts appreciated...will it take the load?

will it add flex into the system and upset the guiding?

are there other issues I've not even thought about?

Thanks in advance

Mike
