My first DSO (widefield) - M31 very much in progress

Still getting to grips with processing etc so I know it is not up to the normal standard but I'm pleased to even get this. Guidance on further processing would be appreciated.

50 x 1 min exposures at ISO 800 unmodded Cannon 1000D just piggybacked on the telescope.

Think I can spy a dust lane in there too Gary.what lens did you image through? the images does look a little dark on my screen which leads me to think there is more data in your image, another tug on curves should help. A good first widefield image and really what this section is all about.

Hi Atroscot2, it was a Cannon 70mm-250mm, I'm working within PS now which is a whole new ball game but gradually I am teasing more and more out of the data and next time I will take some flats!!!!

Very nice picture - also because it confirms that I was looking at 2 dust lanes when I saw M31 through my scope. They looked exactly like that.
