IC 1396 - Second attempt at the 314L+

After some success this week with the 314L and wide filed I decided to have a go at another big object so had a bash at IC1396 a massive 2+ degrees almost 4 times wider than the moon...

I used my favourite lens (Sigma 100-300 EX DG) stopped down to f/5.6 and my little conversion adapter.. HERE

Here is 14 x 10mins stack using an Astronomik Ha Filter and camera running at -10 degrees.

No Darks-No Flats – No Bias ... And 99% full Moon!

Am a very happy chappy! cant wait to start RGB...

Superb mate, just got about 1 hours WO66 388mm subs on this an is definately my next target for a mosiac.

It's a good thing you kept the Atik Guy, superb image btw even without RGB, must save up for one of those cameras...

Nice image, dark areas stand out well, must give the SLR lens a try
