Helop - Software for Subtraction For Asteroid Detection

I was watching the "Wonder of The Solar Syatem" and Brian Cox was being show how to spot asteroids by subtracting one image from another.

Does anybody know of any astronomy software that can do this?

I have tried looking all through Registax but being new to the current version I am lost so don;t know it it's possible to do it.

Hi

Maxim can do it, so I guess can AA and most other image processors rather than AVI processors. Pixel math operations or blinking provide the ability to differentiate between the images to detect moving or different objects.

Maxim is quite expensive for me, but I do not know who AA is. Can you explain.

I have got some image source code for image subtraction so might give it a go in my VB6
