Eureka moment with EQ mount

In the past few days since I joined SGL I've been struggling to understand the geometry of the sky's and why stargazers require an equitorial mount when following an object, then, whilst looking at the astroviewer program on my PC it all clicked

I know it's as simple as the sky turning around one point, but to me it was big realization

Check me, jumping for joy cos I learned a couple of new things about astronomy and I ain't even scratched the surface yet

Yes clicked for me when I first started using my EQ5, just seems really simple now

When I first started it took me 6mths to realise that if you polar align the scope properly then you only need to track using the RA. I built up terrific arm muscles turning both axes at once trying to follow stuff lol

Hi, its one of those things that we seem to overcomplicate sometimes, but once you get the hang of it then it is like second nature.
