Microsoft VX6000 webcam

Does anybody know anything about this camera? Just seen it in Currys and now read a few reviews. I was hoping it would be a CCD based jobby but it's not. That said, it's native video resolution is 1.3mp......that's not stills but video. And it does it at 30fps over USB 2.0 HiSpeed.

Just need to know is this a good CMOS sensor like Canon use or is it a pile of steaming dollops?

After the disappointed of Philips SPC900C which turned out to be nothing more than a redressed Toucam Pro II, which itself was nothing more than a redressed Toucam Pro, been on the lookout for a proper upgrade to the Toucam Pro II.

They say the low light performance is good, somebody had better buy one and find out.

That's the review i read, it sounds promising. Nothing wrong with CMOS sensors providing they are don't right.

The specs sound good. 640x480 with zero compression.

With i had £50 to risk it.

Me too. Just spent £350 on an AP 6" 'scope off e-bay. Offered the guy a buy it now option, he said £350 and I said yes. Picking up with the cash tomorrow.
