Steve 1962 Posted October 10, 2010 Share Posted October 10, 2010 Hiya JoselinIt's difficult to tell from those pictures without further explanation about which is which.I tend to play with the levels first to set the dynamic range of the image (i.e. set the black and white points of the image). Here's a non-astro based tutorial which explains the principles;Using the Photoshop Levels ToolThen once you've got the black and white points correct, you can play with the colour balance and midtone contrast with curves.Using the Photoshop Curves ToolThese tutorials are for Photoshop but I'm sure GIMP is similar.
