BlueAstra
Had a bash at Jupiter on Friday night as an exercise to get to grips with mono imaging with a filter wheel. Not had a chance to process all the images yet, but I think my first RGB composite looks like it is out of focus. I thought the dark spot was dust, but turns out it was Io! Also the blue channel may need toning down a bit because of the blue cast. I used the cheap Opticstar filter set, which includes a 'light' blue and 'dark' blue. Maybe the light blue is too light. Anyway, here it is to counter balance the other superb images in the forum. C8 SCT + x2 Barlow + DMK + manual colour wheel & Opticstar LRGbB basic (cheap!) filters. Typically 1000 frames at 30fps. Manic computer contol and filter manipulation to get all the images before the features move!
BlueAstra
Had a go at re-processing the image. Now slightly better. Included a slightly better focussed L layer.
michael.h.f.wilkinson
Focusing is always tricky. Nice capture of the transit, however.
