AVI Registax HELP!

Hi guys!

Took some AVI's of Jupiter last night with wxAstrocapture and I think they were good.

However I can't open them with Registax 5.1, windows media player or any of my conversion programs.

I get "floating point division by zero error" with DVD Videosoft converter

and "Failed to open AVI type: BADFORMAT ERROR" with Registax.

What is going on? How do I fix this?

You've been so helpful in the past, hope you can sort me out again.

Try running them through VirtualDub and resaving the files in an older format. Also what codec did you use when capturing ?

How do I find out what Codek I'm using? (what is a Codek?) I'm running Vista. Will try virtual dub and let you know...

Well tried virtualdub and saved as old AVI type. However now I get this error message with registax: Failed to start AVI decompression CODEK: YV12 vids

I've made a mistake, virtual dub preview shows only 2 frames and both are green. I'm doing something wrong here as when I save any of the files as old AVI's they are only a couple of hundred kb in size compared to the 100 odd mb the originals were. What do I do?

It's ok guys, the settings on the capture were wrong -contained no video data
