H-alpha activity 14 Sept

The sun certainly is putting on an impressive display for H-alpha viewers. Brianb gave a good summary of the activity in an earlier post. Here are a few more images of our nearest star in H-alpha from the 14th. The Newton's rings are still an issue with the barlow. Attempts using other makes and magnifications proved to be worse then the ones seen here. Experimentation continues... all advice appreciated.

These images were managed in strong winds and just as a huge rainshower approached... Amazing how engrossing the sun can be that a shower was due to hit about 50s before I noticed the first cloud tendrils mar the telescopic view!:):)

Thank you for looking.
