Solar ACtivity 15 Sep

Another very windy day, dull morning but brightening up in the late afternoon with a few sunny intervals between light showers. Solar activity similar to yesterday.

1449 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus, DMK41

1455 UT. Solarscope 60, 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41

The "sail" prominence which has adorned the NE limb for a few days has now rotated fully onto the disc as a "bruise" type filament:

1502 UT. Solarscope 60, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21

There are still lots of filaments in the north western sector:

1501 UT. Solarscope 60, 2.5x Powermate, DMK21 (two frame mosaic)

One of these projects over the limb, forming a "filaprom":

AR 11106 is little altered:

I was unable to image this AR in CaK or white light due to interference from cloud. I would also like to have imaged the prominences on the east limb.

Last but by no means least, there is a spectacular prominence on the SE limb:

Transparency moderate with interference from showery clouds blowing in the strong wind. Seeing moderate. Temperature 15C, wind NW force 6.
