This is my first go at a planetary image for quite a while.

After I processed this image I found the primer/tutorial done by "Kokatha man". This will be a great help when I try again tonight.

130mm APO working at F30 (5X barlow) , DBK camera.

Using about 600 frames from 1000 ( will increase this tonight to 1000 from 1500)

Excellent image. Gives me the incentive to try to mount my DSLR on my 130 too. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Martyn,

Thanks for the comments.

The DBK is a dedicated , high frame rate , web cam made by Imaging Source.

yep very nice

have u tried ur 8" RC on jupiter wud be gud to compare with above

regards James

Not tried the RC on planets.( only had the scope a couple of weeks )

It would be interesting to see how it compares with the 130mm APO.

All we need is some clear skies - weather in the next few days does not look good.

Added another image - 4th Sept 00.32 BST.

Although conditions not as good as the first image I managed a good result because I have a better idea how to carry out the processing :blob10:

John

PS The "black blob" is the moon Ganymede - I think !
