what are the circles called that go under the dob with all the degrees on? and were can i find one please?

Setting circles?.................far as i know they are not part of the DOB setup. They only come with EQ mounts.

If you want to know to what degree a DOB is pointing, you need a gadget called a Wixey.

Hi Melibum - yup they're setting circles. You can't normally buy them standard for dobs. There are different types (printed or elecrtronic). A thread I saw a few weeks ago has a link to a site that enables you to print them out and apply to acetate film for fixing on the dob base - I'll try find it for you and get back later.

Hmmm.... if it's the Manortronics Astro Fix Locator - the web page seems to suggest you may not need a printed setting circle - says it gets altitude and azimuth for you. But do check if I'm reading it correctly
