Travel Dodsonians - Some Advice Please

Good Morning Campers,

I have followed with interest (and admiration), the articles about the 'airline dobsonians' mainly promoted by our Dutch friends. At the moment I am thinking about building a 10" version.

Could anybody please point me towards an article or book that would give the measurements required for the 'scope and also how much the main components would cost and where I can buy them?

I do not need detailed plans for the structure but do need the critical optical dimensions.

Any advice or suggestions would be gratefully received.

Buying a second hand 10" dob and using the components from it can be a very cost effective way to get most of the parts.

A copy of The Dobsonian Telescope: A Practical Manual for Building Large Aperture Telescopes has a lot on info and not just on large dobs despite what the title says.
