EQ6 Tripod

Hi all

Anyone know if the tripod for the EQ6 can be used to mount the EQ3-2 head on ?

Unfortunately the EQ3-2 head doesn't fit the EQ6 tripod. The HEQ5 and EQ5 tripods use the same fitting as the EQ3-2 however.

I thought the central well on the EQ6 tripod was shallower than the EQ3-2/EQ5/HEQ5 tripod.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. I should possibly have explained it better . I am hoping that the legs fit , unbolted form the EQ6 and attached , same way to EQ3-2. I would not need to actually use the well/mounting plate of the EQ6.

I think Kev may have sussed what I meant , not that I'm saying you other guys are daft or summit !

on mine the EQ3 Mount is attached to the EQ6 tripod head all i had to do was unscrew that lip thing off the EQ6 head and it fits in the well like a glove........kev

The Celestron CG5 tripod has 2" steel legs (like the EQ6 tripod), is taller than a HEQ5 / EQ5 tripod and is compatible with the EQ3-2/EQ5/HEQ5 mount heads.

Sadly I sold the CG5 I had , looking at the EQ3-2 though ( lighter )
