Dovetail for WO L bracket

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have and ideas for a cheap dovetail which will fit onto the L bracket of a WO ZS66?

I've just got a mini giro II mount but the foot won't fit into the dovetail clamp?

Many thanks,

Adam

The early ZS66 had a different shaped foot that wouldn't fit into a regular dovetail fitting properly. I can't remember exactly when they changed to the newer foot that will fit.

This mini dovetail block will fasten onto the bottom of the ZS66 foot.

You learn something new every day  A longer dovetail that would allow balancing the scope would be useful as I find using the foot a bit of a pain as the scope is nose heavy.

This isn't the best pic as it doesn't quite show the entire foot, but it's the only one I had that shows the older style WO foot and how the foot tapers towards the front.

This dovetail plate from Telescope Service is really good for fitting onto the foot. The long slot lets you use two 1/4 photo thread bolts to fasten the dovetail on so it won't twist.

The ADM ones are even better but more expensive.

The TS one looks just the ticket. Thanks John.

Thanks guys, more than one option there! The foot is just too wide for the baader vixen clamp annoyingly as i was hoping to pop out to a dark spot tonight for some widefield milkyway viewing!

Cheers,

Adam
