Skywatcher power tank

I've just got a Skywatcher 7ah powertank and it's already charged, but it says in the instructions that the initial charge should be 14 - 16 hours. I just wanted to make sure that I should charge it without using it for 14 - 16 hours.

Any help would be much appreciated.

They come with a small initial charge just to show it works. Best to get it on for 14-16hrs before you go out in the field. Keep it topped up regularly after one or two sessions or once a week. Never let it go flat or it will be useless and the battery will need replacing.

Mine came charged, with the fully charged light on but i still charged it overnight, just because this type of battery likes long charges to stay at capacity really

Hi there,

Had mine a week,left it on overnight to charge, brilliant bit of kit (1st one broke in the first hour of ownership red light torch on/off switch got stuck down and refused to move) but took it back and it was replaced,
