Any tips on how I can prep my orion optics 12" dob so that misting is not a problem? Suffered badly with it last year on my small newtonian.

Was it the secondary, primary or both ? If it was only the secondary on a small Newt, was it your breath ?

I've never had misting on the primary in a 10" Newt but the secondary can be exposed. Maybe try a heater or a few resistors on the back of it. I think there is a thread from some time ago.

Yet to have misting on the 12", just trying to pre-empt. The scope lives in France, so I can't really 'react' to misting.
