My first ever Astro pic. Jupiter 9/7/10

Well last night the seeing was good.

The stars were bright and clear the Milky Way was clearly visible.

At 12:20 UT Jupiter broke the eastern horizon.

75 Images at a 3 second exposure taken with a NPC 900 Toucam.

Tidied in Registax.

Thats a great start cloud bands are clearly visible!

Did you use a 2x barlow? 3 second exposure is way too long though. I normally use 1/25 or 1/33 of a sec with a webcam. When you say 75 images do you mean 75 frames? You need at least 500 frames to get a nice clear image stacked in registax. I would say for Jupiter about 2 mins AVI video stream at 10 frames per second.

Yeah i used a 2x Barlow.

75 frames (My bad)

Took overall about 300 frames through wxastrocapture but due to an overly excited me and a shakey hand from caffine focusing was a little off on all but the last 75.

Great effort but a bit over saturated, try less exposure and a bit longer fl. Good start though.
