Caemra Step down adaptor Ring

I have 18-55 on my Cannon (stock canon lens) i see these guys do lots of rings n stuff Adapter Rings

Which would i need to attach a 2 inch filter onto my cannon lens?

2" filters have a 48mm thread... the Canon "kit" 18-55 has 58mm filter thread...

a 58mm to 48 mm step down ring... but expect to get a fair amount of vignetting at anything shorter than 55mm.

I actually made one as I couldn't find a supplier at the time, but think I might order one now. There is a lot of vignetting at 18mm, however it is reasonable at 25mm and good by 35mm (although still need flats).

Attached is 18mm with 2" filter.

ps, I must say it works great with the 55-250mm lens though, which is a stonking lens for the price, very sharp and very few aberations.

I'll have to get one for my 55-250... put the SW LP filter on the nose...
